Simeon Burns

Simeon Burns recently received his Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is currently enrolled in graduate school working towards a Master’s.  He is currently employed by an internationally known company as a supervisor during the evening shift.  His journey to the Austrian school and an understanding of individual liberty started when he was 19 after reading several Ron Paul books and deciding to order some of the books in the “Suggested Reading” section.  After reading Henry Hazlitt’s Economics in One Lesson he was convinced someone had laid a firm foundation on which to base economics off of and went on to read and study many more classical Austrian works.  His intellectual interests (and therefore the topics of his columns) are; economics, political theory and policy, theology, and history, which one could adequately label as a “worldview”.  He believes that everyone has a worldview and that if you can study the ideas that inform a person’s worldview you can not only understand them, but effectively critique them if need be.

In his personal time Simeon enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, thinking, eating pizza and Taco Bell, exercising (because of the pizza and Taco Bell), playing football, basketball, and soccer (call him he needs people), and talking to people about whatever common interests they might share.  Although he is engaged (still) he is not married and currently has no kids.  He also has no pets with little clichéd names like Rufus or Jerry to list as well for comic relief.  Just him, his books, his thoughts, and a computer.
